What will a dentist usually do to repair a small chip on a molar?
Bill S asked:
I was at the dentist for a cleaning the other day, and he said that I had a small chip that we I should get taken care. He said something about something maybe separating???

It looks like a tiny chip on the outside of my molar.
I have insurance, but I still have to pay 20%.
I made an appointment and I forgot to ask what he is actually going to do. I am trying to figure out if this is going to be expensive or not.

He may just be going to place a bonded filling in the small chip. This would be inexpensive. If the tooth had a larger ***** and was weakened, he would place a crown on the tooth. This would require 2 appointments and would be much more expensive. I would think if he was going to do this he would have told you. Good luck
